Interfaith Relationships

A Commitment to interfaith dialogue

After the events of 9/11, our congregation sought a better understanding of the monotheistic faiths, Islam and Judaism, by participating in a series of interfaith events in Fairfax County. This set us on a journey of deepening relationships with Muslim and Jewish neighbors in our community.

Out of those events, the Interfaith Communities for Dialogue (ICD) was formed, in 2004. The ICD "...promotes understanding and respect, and relationships among religiously and culturally diverse communities in Fairfax County and surrounding areas." (from the ICD web site). Ravensworth is a member congregation of the ICD, which

"brings together members of diverse faith traditions and seeks to deepen relationships through activities such as:
- Interfaith Dialogues
- Film Viewing & Discussions
- Book Discussions
- Community Service Projects
- Interfaith Dinners
- Educational Events"
