Today I'm sharing a digital comic book, published a few weeks ago by ABC News and Marvel Comics, that depicts events in Madaya, Syria. The comic tells the story of a real woman that ABC News calls "Madaya Mom" and her struggles living in a city that has been under siege since June of 2015. Though the comic takes place in January of this year, Madaya is STILL under siege right now. People, including children, are starving to death, supported only by very occasional aid convoys and by smugglers charging exorbitant prices.
Even if you are not someone who would normally read a comic, take a few minutes to read this -- the illustrations are moving, heartbreaking. Madaya Mom's story deserves to be known, and it is long past time that this war needs to end.
